Motherhood, Edge Wallet, Alexey Pertsev and maybe some alpha.
Last time you saw me, I was 8 months pregnant and closing the ETHDam stage. I took a few months off, deep cleaned my house, stepped away from crypto (I kept lurking) and welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the world. She's since been brightening all our days and nights. I'm so honored to be her mama and I look forward to bringing her to her 1st hackathon.
The lights stayed on
The Amsterdam meetup kept shining with Tara as it's temporary Captain, hosting the months of May and June on her own. While Yehor took over from Sterling in Rotterdam and started hosting the Crypto Drinks at a new venue.
Welcoming a new meetup partner: Edge Wallet
As such, in July, we welcomed a new meetup partner: Edge Wallet. They've been a dear wallet of mine. Multiasset, non custodian, private by design (hierarchical deterministic) - an easy wallet to use, store and buy your favorite cryptos.
We go way back
I saw Paul Puey, Founder of Edge Wallet in 2018 for the 1st time, when he gave a talk in Amsterdam. I still remember a powerful slide of his entitled: “Forking is Freedom” talking about communities, code politics and BCH. As a wallet the question lingers, which coins to add and support?
Some of you might remember that I taught Crypto 101 online for many years. In those classes, I would always end with a cryptocurrency wallet workshop - to actually showcase the magic of p2p electronic cash - and I would use and recommend Edge. I can look back at my BCH wallet and recall all those 1€ worth of BCH sent to all my students. The good old days. May I ask, what crypto do you use today to onboard your friends and family?

The fight for Alexey Pertsev ain't cheap
Ashamed of the Dutch judicial system, blind and deaf to the true innovation, and genius of Alexey and Tornado Cash. He was sentenced this May 14th, to 5 years and is currently in jail appealing his sentence.
As crypto builders, we are all Alexey. Our work to further the financial system goes beyond the norm, we break it. We reveal new frontiers, which the legal barriers can't contain, and should not apply to. Alexey is an unwanted martyr. We will keep fighting for him, his legacy and the cypherpunk values.
ETHDam III - Save the date!
